The vulnerability, designated as CVE-2025-48817, affects multiple versions of Windows and poses significant security risks for organizations that rely on Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connections.
Microsoft has released comprehensive security updates addressing CVE-2025-48817 across its entire Windows ecosystem. The affected platforms span from legacy systems, including Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7, to current versions such as Windows 11 24H2 and Windows Server 2022. Specific build numbers for patched versions include 10.0.26100.4652 for Windows 11 24H2 and 10.0.22631.5624 for Windows 11 23H2. Since spam gets filtered out of your primary inbox in most cases, another major annoyance that many users currently face is unwanted emails from websites that they may have knowingly or unknowingly subscribed to. Now, Google is implementing a robust mechanism to get rid of this problem in Gmail as well.
Google has started rolling out a new feature in Gmail that enables its users to unsubscribe from certain email senders in a matter of seconds. This is made possible through a Manage subscriptions view that can be accessed from the left navigation panel. Once you click on it, you'll get a dedicated view showing you a list of senders, sorted by how frequently they blast you with emails.
You can simply click the Unsubscribe button next to whichever senders are annoying you the most with frequent emails. You'll be greeted with a prompt asking you to confirm if you want to be removed from the mailing lists of the particular sender, and you just have to acknowledge that. However, Google has cautioned that it may take a few days for senders to stop contacting you via mailing lists.
This is a particularly useful feature, and one that can come in really handy when you are getting those "You have an invitation" emails from LinkedIn, or the likes |

AMD Adrenalin 25.6.3 Driver Is Available - [gaming]
03:35 PM EDT - Jun,30 2025 - post a comment AMD just released the new Adrenalin 25.6.3 driver for its graphics cards. This update adds support for AMD FSR 4.0 in Monster Hunter Wilds and Grand Theft Auto 5: Enhanced Edition. If you play either of these games, it's a good idea to download this driver.
The AMD Adrenalin 25.6.3 driver also fixes a few bugs. For instance, it resolves a bug that prevented RX9000 series owners from using AMD FSR 4.0 in DragonKin: The Banished, Blades of Fire, RoadCraft, The Alters, Star Wars Outlaws, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
This driver also fixes some other problems. For instance, it stops crashes that could happen when playing Black Myth: WuKong on Radeon RX 7650 GRE graphics cards. It also fixes flickering and broken textures in Oblivion Remastered when using AMD FSR on the Radeon RX 9070 XT.
For those wondering, the driver does not stop the random crashes in Cyberpunk 2077 on the AMD RX 7000 or RX 9000 GPUs. It also doesn't fix the crashes in Monster Hunter Wilds when using Radeon Anti-Lag and Instant Replay. And it doesn't fix the stutters that can happen in Call of Duty: Warzone on the Season 03 ‘Verdansk' map.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER Could Feature 24 GB Memory, Increased Power Limits - [hardware]
02:00 PM EDT - Jun,30 2025 - post a comment Hot on the heels of rumored specs of the GeForce RTX 5070 SUPER and RTX 5070 Ti SUPER, rumored specs of the RTX 5080 SUPER emerged on VideoCardz. Apparently, NVIDIA will not tap into the larger "GB202" silicon to build the RTX 5080 SUPER despite maxing out the "GB203" silicon to build the current RTX 5080. It will take a slightly different approach, by giving the card additional memory and power limits. 24 Gbit GDDR7 memory chips are a distinct feature of RTX 50-series SUPER graphics cards, and much like the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER, the RTX 5080 SUPER will feature 24 GB of GDDR7 memory across a 256-bit wide memory bus.
NVIDIA could possibly use 30 Gbps memory speeds for this SKU to end up with at least the same kind of bandwidth as the regular RTX 5080, which is 960 GB/s. The other interesting aspect of the RTX 5080 SUPER is expected to be its increased TGP (total graphics power) value of 415 W, a 15% increase over the 360 W TGP of the RTX 5080. This increase in TGP will not just support the higher density memory chips, but also allow NVIDIA to increase GPU clock speeds. This will likely be necessary, given that NVIDIA has no headroom to increase shader counts on "GB203," and will need something to increase performance for games without heavy memory demands. |

After all, what better test of movie magic than convincingly bringing long-extinct animals back to life? With Jurassic World Rebirth proving yet again that the Jurassic Park turned World franchise is alive and well, we figured it was a good enough time to revisit some of the best dinosaur movies ever made, from the terrifying special effects showcases like Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic World and the various sequels like Fallen Kingdom and Dominion to the animated features aimed at younger kids like The Land Before Time, Disney's Dinosaur, Pixar's The GOOD Dinosaur, and a whole bunch of older classics that might seem prehistoric to modern audiences, but which are still fascinating to watch for their effects, like One Million Years B.C. and The Valley of Gwangi, showcasing the early stop-motion work of the legendary Ray Harryhausen, or the work of his mentor Willis O'Brien - whose awesome dinosaur fights in the original 1933 King Kong, which inspire Peter Jackson to pursue filmmaking, found WETA and mo-cap Andy Serkis beating up some large reptilian carnivores in his own the better part of a century later. There aren't as many dinosaur movies as there should be, and a lot of them aren't as good as we'd like them to be, but they all have dinosaurs in them and that's pretty cool!

Microsoft officially confirms that Windows 11 version 25H2 is coming later this year - [briefly]
07:31 AM EDT - Jun,28 2025 - post a comment Microsoft released Dev and Beta builds for Windows 11 today, and while the updates contain nearly identical change logs, one interesting observation is confirmation that Dev Channel users will be seeing Windows 11, version 25H2 in Settings > System > About and winver moving forward. Even though we had heard some whispers about it before, this is the first time that Microsoft has officially confirmed this next feature update to Windows 11.
In a much more detailed blog post, Microsoft has made recommendations to organizations about how they can prepare for the arrival of Windows 11, version 25H2. The Redmond tech firm has highlighted that version 24H2 and version 25H2 both share the same Windows servicing branch, which means that the upgrade process should be fairly quick due to the presence of enablement packages (eKB). For those who don't know, enablement packages are bits and pieces of disabled code containing new features that are activated by Microsoft during a feature upgrade. This means that Windows 11, version 24H2 PCs can quickly update to version 25H2 in a single restart since the new code is already there, it just needs to be toggled on.
As always, Enterprise versions of Windows 11, version 25H2 will receive 36 months of support starting from the release date, while Pro and Home variants will enjoy 24 months of support.

Facebook, Netflix, and Microsoft Websites Hijacked to Insert Fake Phone Numbers - [security]
02:26 AM EDT - Jun,25 2025 - post a comment A sophisticated scam operation targeting major American companies, including Netflix, Microsoft, and Bank of America, where attackers manipulate legitimate websites to display fraudulent phone numbers.
The attack, technically classified as a search parameter injection attack, exploits vulnerabilities in website search functionalities to embed scammer-controlled contact information directly onto official company pages. This method proves particularly dangerous because victims see the authentic company URL in their browser address bar while unknowingly viewing malicious content, making the scam nearly impossible to detect without specialized security tools.
Here's how it works: Cybercriminals pay for a sponsored ad on Google pretending to be a major brand. Often, this ad leads people to a fake website. However, in the cases we recently found, the visitor is taken to the legitimate site with a small difference.
Visitors are taken to the help/support section of the brand's website, but instead of the genuine phone number, the hijackers display their scammy number instead.
The browser address bar will show that of the legitimate site and so there's no reason for suspicion. However, the information the visitor sees will be misleading, because the search results have been poisoned to display the scammer's number prominently in what looks like an official search result.
Once the number is called, the scammers will pose as the brand with the aim of getting their victim to hand over personal data or card details, or even allow remote access to their computer. In the case of Bank of America or PayPal, the scammers want access to their victim's financial account so they can empty it of money.
A technically more correct name for this type of attack would be a search parameter injection attack, because the scammer has crafted a malicious URL that embeds their own fake phone number into the genuine site's legitimate search functionality.

Newcomer Alfie Williams ably shoulders the harrowing plot, flanked on either side by similarly strong performances from Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jodie Comer. Boyle has plenty of new tricks up his sleeves for how to shoot 28 Years Later in a way that evokes the spirit of the original without copying it, and the same goes for the action, which feels more like an evolution of 28 Days Later's self-assured perspective on infected carnage rather than an attempt to outdo the running, biting hordes of imitators it inspired.Its scope is much more narrow than 28 Days Later's, but its message is just as powerful.

According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 576.80 WHQL driver adds official support for FBC: Firebreak and REMATCH. It also adds support for the Path Tracing Update of DOOM: The Dark Ages. It's worth noting that this driver brings a number of game fixes. For instance, it brings stability improvements to Dune: Awakening and EA Sports FC 25. It also fixes some shadow flickers that could occur in Dragon's Dogma 2. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 should also be more stable now with this new driver.

updates for 66 flaws, including one actively exploited vulnerability
and another that was publicly disclosed.
This Patch Tuesday also fixes ten "Critical" vulnerabilities, eight
being remote code execution vulnerabilities and two being elevation of
privileges bugs.
