According to the RIAA, Youtube and Google Video are the newest way to share music illegally. The RIAA's served Youtube several cease-and-desist letters to remove content that users have uploaded.

Currently, the labels are policing Youtube and other sites on their own. Their efforts in removing the content has proved to have mixed effects. While many video's are removed quickly upon request, the video's are often resubmitted within days. One possible solution to the crisis the RIAA is facing is for Youtube and others to implement content-filtering in order to find and prevent video's that infringe upon copyright from being uploaded to the site. Youtube's competitors, including Google Video, who is partnered with Sony BMG to sell video's, iFilm, which is owned by MTV, and Myspace, which displays promotional and ad-supported music video's for labels. However, all of these sites allow users to submit their own video's and have seen an increase in unauthorized video's or video's that break copyright uploaded and viewed on their networks.

- RIAA praises SONY for putting rootkits on their music CDs that infected tons of consumers opening their computers to attack from the Internet. SONY quickly retreating from this behavior.

- Oregon woman counter sues RIAA under Organised Crime RICO Statutes.

- RIAA staging police raids on store selling unlabeled garage band CDs.
RIAA coaching 15 year old witness trying to coerce her to change her deposition.

- MPA/RIAA going after sites that have song lyrics and tablature? What next? Are phrases going to be outlawed for public use. No kids named �Jude�, no storing �Toys in the Attic�, electricians can no longer use the words AC/DC? Yes I know this is the MPA doing this, but they are all the little brothers of the RIAA in spirit, watching to see what they can get away with.

- RIAA going after all gadgets that can play music to make sure they are locked down. Even going after things which don�t even exist yet!

- RIAA now taking on whole countries. When NASA beams music into space to the astronauts for wakeup calls, is that illegal because some alien culture may intercept the transmission a few millenia from now?

- MPA (RIAA�s little sister) trying to limit distribution of an independent film about itself (the MPA) by giving it a NC-17 rating, which took the place of the �X� rating in films.
