Google TAG deleted 23,000+ YouTube channels in January, February, March - [internet] 04:12 PM EDT - May,15 2025 - post a comment Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG) has published its latest report about the coordinated influence operation campaigns it detected and terminated in the first quarter of 2025. The newly available insight highlights that TAG terminated 23,267 YouTube channels.
TAG Bulletin is a quarterly update that Google has been sharing for several years to inform the general public about bad actors exploiting its platforms, such as YouTube, Google News, Google Ads, and Blogger. It offers an insight into a diverse world of online influence operations trying to spread narratives around geopolitical conflicts, elections, and regional tensions. While the affected YouTube channels were linked to different countries, the report states that about 15,800 related to China alone were neutralized in January, February, and March, adding that these findings are consistent with previous reports.
Terminated YouTube channels were also linked to Azerbaijan, Russia, Germany, Nigeria, Romania, and others. Speaking of individual months, TAG removed over 14,600 YouTube channels in January, followed by 4,000+ in February and 4,500+ in March of the first quarter. |
NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready 576.40 WHQL Driver Released - [gaming] 01:55 AM EDT - May,14 2025 - post a comment NVIDIA has released the GeForce Game Ready 576.40 WHQL drivers for its graphics cards. These drivers come with optimization for "DOOM: The Dark Ages," and "New World: Aeternum." The drivers also add G-SYNC support for almost a dozen new monitor models, listed below. There is a rather short list of game-specific bug fixes with this release. To begin with, the drivers address random stability issues with "Monster Hunter Wilds." Also addressed is an issue specific to the RTX 50-series "Blackwell" GPUs, where in "Dead Space Remake," the shadows exhibit a random flicker.
Among the general issues fixed with this release is incorrect color saturation observed on RTX 50-series GPUs when the game is being rendered at a resolution lower than the display's native resolution. Another bug specific to the combination of RTX 50-series GPUs with ASUS PG32UQXR/ASUS ROG PG248QP/ASUS ROG PG32UCDM displays that causes these displays to boot to a black screen, has been fixed. A bug that causes certain LG TVs to exhibit a stutter at lower refresh rates with G-SYNC enabled, has been fixed

Another new feature is 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability), which simplifies the 5G standard in ways that make 5G practical for devices like smartwatches and IoT devices. 5G Advanced also brings enhanced location precision features. 5G Advanced brings a long list of other, smaller improvements to the 5G standard in areas like network slicing. Carriers can choose which features to implement on their network, and indeed T-Mobile says it is "blending elements from Releases 17 and 18". |

AMD Software Adrenalin 25.4.1 Beta Drivers Released - [gaming] 10:11 AM EDT - Apr,23 2025 - post a comment Yesterday, AMD released Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 25.4.1 Optional Beta drivers that add FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Dynasty Warriors Origin, Civilization 7, and Naraka Bladepoint. It also brings Amuse 3 support and AMD-optimized models to Radeon RX 9000 and RX 7000 series graphics cards alongside Ryzen AI 300 series processors. Among the many fixes you'll find corrected lighting artifacts in Topaz Photo AI's Adjust Lighting features on RX 9000 series cards, removed flicker when using AMD FreeSync, improved DirectML and GenAI performance in Amuse 3.0 on RX 7000 GPUs and Ryzen AI 300 series chips, and patched image corruption in certain diffuser models on RX 9000 hardware.
The update also smooths out stutter and performance drops in World of Warcraft's Western Plaguelands, restores integrated camera detection after factory resets on Ryzen AI Max devices, and addresses AMD Chat installation hangs. Since this is still an optional beta with some known issues, like FSR 4 not activating in Naraka Bladepoint on Windows 10, crashes in The Last of Us Part 2, memory leaks in SteamVR on RX 9000 cards, or intermittent launch and stability hiccups in games like Cyberpunk 2077, Fantasy VII Rebirth, Battlefield 1, Monster Hunter Wilds and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, AMD recommends using the suggested workarounds such as disabling motion smoothing or integrated graphics in your BIOS and holding out for your system vendor's certified driver to ensure full compatibility. |
