has received confirmation from AMD that it plans to simplify and consolidate
its product lineup by bringing several of its current processor model numbers to
of the second quarter. These products include

I guess the point is to widen the performance gap between the FX line and the X2 line by reducing available cache to the X2s. Then maybe they can justify the large price discrepancy between the two.
Guess that means I'll have to wait even longer til they start using that new cache technology they're working on and can put 4 and 8 meg caches on chips for cheap.
I don't know... the market is so turbulent I wouldn't be suprised if it fell flat on its ass. |
