Three weeks following the introduction of its GeForce 8600, 8500, 8400, and 8300 graphics cards, Nvidia has decided to revisit the GeForce 7 series. The firm has launched a new low-end GeForce 7200 GS graphics card, which it touts as a "new, faster, entry-level GPU." This new graphics card is poised as a cheap upgrade for users who use integrated graphics and want to run the Aero user interface in Windows Vista. Nvidia claims that the GeForce 7200 GS is up to 50% faster than even the latest and greatest integrated graphics processors out there, so it can probably handle a wee bit of light gaming, as well. Nvidia says the GeForce 7200 GS is available immediately at "aggressive prices under $50" in pre-built PCs and from online retailers.

In related news, Fudzilla claims that AMD's R600 will have even more iterations and the cheaper version of the chip will be called XL and it is scheduled for late June. They don't have a lot of details about the specifications, but they learned that it should cost around $279 and be a direct competitor to the Geforce 8800 GTS 320 cards. The Radeon HD 2900XL comes with 512 MB of memory. Also, if you were waiting for Radeon HD 2950XTX you will have to wait even longer. According to Fudzilla, AMD won't be launching the 1024 MB graphics card until Q3 (August/September) It plans to launch the R650 chip and brand it as Radeon HD 2950XTX, 1024 MB GDDR4. The chip is called R650 and it is a 65 nanometre core. With this new chip AMD might have a fighting chance against the Geforce 8800 Ultra, but the real question is what will Nvidia have at that time.
