Launching towards the end of September, the Switch Lite will be available in turquoise
, and in gray
. Additionally, a Pokemon Sword and Shield version of the Switch Lite will be available on November 15, the same day as the new Pokemon games' launch.
For those that don't know, the Nintendo Switch Lite is a smaller, handheld-only version of the Switch. It has a 5.5-inch screen and a longer battery life of 3-7 hours. Additionally, the joy-cons won't be detachable like the original Switch model and HD rumble won't be a feature on the Switch Lite as well.
The Switch Lite leaked back in April thanks to Twitter user Piranha Capital but no one necessarily believed it at the time. On top of the Switch Lite, Nintendo announced an updated version of the original Nintendo Switch that features a longer battery life of 4.5-9 hours. For comparison, the original Switch lasts between 2.5-6.5 hours.
With titles like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order and Fire Emblem: Three Houses out now and titles like Luigi's Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword and Shield coming later this year, now's the perfect time to jump on the Switch bandwagon.
The Nintendo Switch Lite launches on September 20 for $199.99, the same day as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
