The new models being announced today are the N100 14" and 15.4" widescreen notebooks, featuring Intel's Core Duo technology. There're no details except the common set of features:

- Intel Core Duo processor up to 2.0GHz
- Intel Core Solo processor up to 1.67GHz
- Up to 2GB DDR2 667
- Up to 100GB 5400RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive
- 4 USB 2.0 ports & 1 4-pin Firewire
- 4-in-1 Card Reader
- 14" WXGA Anti-Glare (Transmissive) or VibrantView (Glossy/Transreflective)
- 15.4" WXGA Anti-Glare (Transmissive) or VibrantVew (Glossy/Transreflective)
- 15.4" WSXGA+ Anti-Glare (Transmissive)
- Optional Fingerprint Reader
- Optional integrated camera
- Intel GMA950 graphics on 14"
- NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 64MB or 128MB on 15.4"
- CDRW/DVDROM or DVDRW Optical Drives
- 6 or 9-cell batteries

Overall it looks like a solid feature set. Intel's latest platform, numerous screen options, discrete graphics on the 15.4", and all the other standard goodies one would come to expect. The only major downside we see thus far is the weight: the 14" unit carries a whopping 5.58lbs (Not sure which battery) and the 15.4" is 6.17lbs. The 14" Thinkpad Z60t weighs 5.1lbs with the 7-cell battery; while still hefty, it is a fair bit lighter than the N100 14". On the other hand, the 15.4" Thinkpad Z60m weighs 7.3lbs with the 9-cell battery compared to the 6.17lbs N100 15.4". It will be interesting to see just how different these Lenovo PCs are from tried and true Thinkpads.
