To get an idea of how different board manufacturers are approaching NVIDIA's GeForce 7900 series, TechReport have rounded up a collection of cards from Asus, Biostar, BFG, and XFX:

In the end, we're stuck waffling between Asus' EN7900GT TOP and BFG's GeForce 7900 GT OC. The Asus card is the only GT in the round-up to replace NVIDIA's reference cooler with a quieter, more effective design, and it comes with a couple of games that add some value to the package. However, at $325 online, the TOP costs $26 more than the BFG card. Asus' three-year warranty is less impressive than lifetime coverage, as well, but the TOP's clock speeds are higher.

BFG's lifetime warranty is easily the GeForce 7900 GT OC's most valuable asset, especially since BFG has such a strong reputation for tech support. The card's factory overclocking barely pushes past NVIDIA's stock speeds and doesn't include many extras, except for a more versatile video output dongle. The no-frills approach doesn't bug us, but NVIDIA's noisy stock cooler for the 7900 GT does. We'd consider adding a quiet third-party GPU cooler to this card or any of the 7900 GTs-perhaps something from Zalman. You should be able to afford it if you pick the BFG over the Asus. The BFG card's price tag comes in just below $300.

In the end, I'd recommend either one. The BFG GeForce 7900 GT OC is a great deal if you tend to hang on to your graphics cards for a while and prefer to do your own overclocking. If you're willing to pay a little more for a couple of games, a quieter cooler, and higher clock speeds, the value is definitely there with the Asus EN7900GT TOP. When the warranty runs out in three years, you'll have a good excuse to upgrade, too.
