Every time that I think CD Projekt Red can't make Cyberpunk 2077 any cooler, they somehow top themselves. This has proven to be true once again recently as the fictional band in the game's universe, called Samurai, has now started releasing actual tracks that you can listen to right now. CD Projekt Red released the first track from Samurai, called Chippin' In, on the game's official YouTube trailer just recently and it's pretty freaking great. You may also recognize this track from the end Cyberpunk 2077's most recent trailer which appeared at E3 2019. To provide some background for this whole situation, in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, Keanu Reeves' character of Johnny Silverhand is the lead singer of a band called Samurai. The band was around in the early 2000s before, according to Cyberpunk lore, later breaking up in 2008. The iconic jacket that your character of V in Cyberpunk 2077 can wear is actually bearing the symbol of the band. While Keanu plays Silverhand in the game though, he isn't the one singing on this track — even though that'd be pretty cool if it was him. Instead, the track is actually performed by the real-life Swedish punk band Refused. Furthermore, Silverhand, who isn't actively alive in 2077, appears in the game as a sort of digital hologram in V's head. There's still not a lot that we know about Silverhand's motivations in the game other than, you know, he wants to burn the city down. It seems he'll play a vital role in the plot but we'll have to wait to learn more about him in the full release. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release next year on April 16, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
