Cingular
hasofficially launched its 3G video on demand service. Cingular Video will
only work on 3G handsets such as the LG CU320 and Samsung ZX10. Like video
services from Sprint, Verizon and others, Cingular will offer clips of popular
shows, sports highlights and music videos on demand. Subscribers will not need
to pay any additional fees for most content as long as they are subscribed to
the MEdia Works unlimited data plan. There will be an additional charge for some
content such as HBO shows and music videos.
Cingular also announced that
the next
two 3G handsets it will launch are the Nokia 6282 and LG CU500. This
indicates Nokia has upgraded the 6282 to include WCDMA 850 and 1900 for
Cingular. LG has not shown off the CU500 before and little is known about this
new handset.
