According to Eurogamer, an advertisement in the UK game industry trade-magazine MCV lists Mafia II demo will release on August 10 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. There is no indication whether the date is specific to Europe or if the demo will be made available globally on August 10.  Mafia II will be available in a number of different flavors, both at retail and online, when it hits the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on August 24 in North America and August 27 in Europe.
