LG 32LX2R 32in LCD TV - TechAmok
LG 32LX2R 32in LCD TV - [hardware] 05:32 PM EDT - May,03 2006 - post a comment Trusted
Reviews posted a review on the LG 32LX2R 32in LCD TV:
Connectivity is impressive for a 32in LCD TV costing just a grand. For
starters there are not one but two digital video inputs: one HDMI and one DVI.
With multiple HDMI/DVI-requiring devices incoming, such as Sky's high definition
receiver, Toshiba's HD-DVD player and Sony's PS3, having more than one digital
video input on a TV is becoming increasingly desirable. Both the LG's digital
jacks can be set to take high definition video or PC feeds too, and they're
supported by component video inputs, a pair of SCARTs and all the other more
basic video alternatives.
A search for features on the 32LX2R quickly uncovers a disappointment: there's
only a built-in analogue tuner, not a digital one. With this in mind it might
have been nice if LG had provided a third SCART socket, since many buyers will
have to use one of the two that are provided for attaching some sort of digital
receiver. But we guess we won't harp on about this too much given that the set
carries one digital input more than the vast majority of its rivals.
In other news,
Hexus.net reviewed the Evesham Technology V32EMRO-ZE3 32-inch LCD TV:
There's little doubt that the Evesham V32EMRO-ZE3 offers an excellent range
of input connectivity for a 32-inch LCD TV. HDMI (with HDCP) is a real bonus at
the screen's £749 asking price - we'll be seeing a rash of HDMI-enabled source
devices in the coming months, among them set-top boxes and high-def DVD players.
Overall design is good if not cutting edge, and the screen's speakers are more
potent than they look. More good is to be found with the flexible on-screen menu
system and intuitive remote control.
Evesham also bundles in a comprehensive 3-year swapout warranty that's supported
by its engineers, which is impressive given the low cost of the LCD TV. It's
transferrable, so it adds significant value when other screens' standard 1-year
warranty comes to an end.
The panel doesn't suffer from the smearing/trailing associated with ultra-cheap
panels, and it's more than capable of displaying fast-paced action without any
problems.
