DigiTimes reports that NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce 300 series cards based on their GF100 "Fermi" architecture, won't be released until March 2010. While DigiTimes says this is a delay, technically NVIDIA has always said that Fermi will ship sometime in Q1, so a March release would still fit within that timeframe. Still, a March launch would put NVIDIA 6 months behind ATI, and keep in mind that they're already facing shortages of GeForce GTX 200 cards. If NVIDIA can't bring GF100 to market in decent quantities soon and the shortages continue, they could lose a significant chunk of market share to ATI.
DigiTimes says NVIDIA plans to release a 40-nm GDDR5 GF100 board in March, with GF104 coming in Q2. For the performance segment, DigiTimes believes NVIDIA will stick with GeForce GTS 250/240 as well as the 9800 GT and 9500 GT. For the mainstream segment, NVIDIA will rely on GeForce 210.
