have just released the
17" model of there
Macbook Pro The top-of-the-line laptop packs an Intel CoreDuo processor
running at 2.16GHz, 1GB (single SODIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM, and a display that is
said to be 36 percent brighter than its predecessor. Like Apple's 15.4-inch
MacBook Pro, the 17-inch model features an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB
GDDR3 memory, built-in iSight camera, IR remote control for Apple's Front Row
media software, and the MagSafe Power Adapter. In addition, the 17-inch MacBook
Pro features a FireWire 800 port, a third USB 2.0 port, larger 120GB hard drive
(5400-rpm Serial ATA), and faster 8x SuperDrive. Screen resolution remains
unchanged at 1680x1050. Apple has started taking orders for the 17-inch MacBook
Pro, which sells for $2,799. Surprisingly, this is the same price as the
15.4-inch MacBook Pro when custom ordered with a 2.16GHz processor. The laptop
will begin shipping next week.
