Intel has trimmed prices on a range of mainstream and value-oriented Core 2 and Pentium processors. While pricing on higher-end quad-core Core i7 and Core 2 Quad CPUs carry over unchanged,
Intel's Q9400 and Q9300 saw a 14% cut, down from $213 to $183, while their entry-level quad-core CPUs with 4MB of L2 cache (the Q8400 and Q8300) had their prices reduced 11% from $183 to $163. Low power variants of the Q9400 and Q8400 also saw cuts. On the dual-core Core 2 front, Intel lowered
the E7500's price from $133 to $113, a reduction of 15%. Pentium CPUs also saw price cuts, with Intel trimming the price of the E6300 from $84 to $81, while the E5400 and E5300 saw cuts of 12% and 14% respectively, and are now priced at $74 and $64.
