We have reviewed a number of Asus boards which are based on the X58 chipset and each time we have been impressed. The Deluxe V2 carries on this tradition as there is very little about the board which an be faulted. From the excellent build quality and layout to the inclusion of niceties such as the EZ-Sheild and Q-Connectors the whole product has a feel of quality. Added to this we have excellent features such as ExpressGate, a basic OS for quick functionality, and EZ-Flash 2 which is by far the best BIOS based flashing utility.

In terms of performance we have another area where it is hard to fault the P6T, it was often a small amount faster than the Foxconn boards we tested today and also overclocked well. Credit also has to go to Asus for their BIOS and software, the BIOS is very easy to navigate around and very little manual configuration is required on first set-up and when overclocking. The AI Suite looks great and is easy to use and responsive.

If there is anything which could be improved it would be the back panel where a clear CMOS button would be appreciated. It would also be great to see ASUS moving away from PS/2 connectors and instad using the space to fit in onboard WI-FI, neither are essentials but they would make the P6T Deluxe V2 a truly awesome product.
