The chaps over at DriverHeavens overclocked the AMDs TWKR CPU and managed to get over 6GHZ out of it - which makes it the fastest AMD CPU they have ever tested!

The AM3 based TWKR 42 Black Edition is very similar to the 955 CPU as it a Deneb based model, a 45nm part with 4 cores. It features the same level of cache including 4x512kb of L2 and 6mb of L3 but has a slightly different speed out of the box. Instead of the 3.2GHz via a 16x multiplier and 200MHz bus the TWKR has a 2.0GHz clock with 10x multiplier. HT link is also slightly different with 1800 on the TWKR and 2000MHz on the 955BE.

As the TWKR is more a technology demonstration product than retail CPU we will be concentrating purely on overclocking in this test. For the first results we connected a CoolIT Domino to the system and set the voltage to 1.45v. With this voltage selected we began raising the CPU multiplier until the system became unstable. From there we backed down 0.5x and began overclocking with the CPU bus. This gave us a maximum speed of 3700MHz on the 955BE. The TWKR was more impressive and was able to maintain stability at 19x207 which resulted in a speed of 3933MHZ.

Without raising the voltage to levels which were unsafe for liquid cooling this was the limit for both CPUs and so we dusted off our old Vapochill LS system and AM2/3 bracket. With the CPU running well below freezing we began raising the voltage, multiplier and bus until the CPUs hit their limit. The 955BE was able to run at 27.5x208MHZ to give a speed of 5.72GHz but this was some way behind the TWKR which ran with complete stability at 6048MHz, the first CPU we have tested past 6GHz.
