NVIDIA
officially launched its new GeForce Go 7900 GTX and 7900 GS mobile graphics
processors. The Go 7900 GS already made a debut in
Toshiba's Satellite P105-S921
last month. The GS features 375MHz core and 1GHz effective memory clock speeds,
as well as 20 pixel shader processors and 7 vertex shader units. Meanwhile, the
flagship Go 7900 GTX offers the same 24 pixel shader processors and 8 vertex
shader units as the desktop 7900 GTX, but with a scaled down 500MHz core and
1.4GHz memory-respectively 150MHz and 200MHz below the desktop offering. Both
7900 Go GPUs are expected to support up to 512MB of 256-bit GDDR3 memory.
