Nvidia is going to silently launch
a new 9800 GT Green edition in Mid March where the VGPU will be lowered and
that results in core clocks reduction from 600 to 550MHz and shader clock from
1500 to 1375MHz. Next, Nvidia is going to rebrand the current GeForce 9800 GT to
GeForce GTS 240 in April and the strategy will probably mirror the GTS 250 plans
: better pricing. Right now, GeForce 9800 GT cards are retailing at US$120 so
probably we can see a GTS 240 card selling near the US$100 mark which could
potentially squeeze Radeon HD 4830 cards out of the league.
