David Ciccone of Mobility Today was lucky enough to get his hands on a brand new Sony Xperia X1 smartphone, unboxing the glorious handset in the video below.
The box itself does not appear to be all that exciting, but David does provide us with a size comparison, placing the Xperia X1 against the AT&T Fuze and a Sprint's HTC Touch Pro. While the physical size of the Xperia X1 is more or less in line with those other HTC-sourced Windows Mobile smartphones, you will notice that the Xperia boasts a WVGA display and the keyboard is missing the extra row of buttons at the top. This makes it more compact, but I actually like the extra row (for numbers) in the Touch Pro. Among the rest of the specs, as you may recall, are Windows Mobile 6.1, the special "Panels" user interface, quad-band GSM, and tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100). The unlocked handset will work with T-Mobile, but only at EDGE speeds, because T-Mo's 3G operates differently than that of AT&T.
