VR-Zone take a look at the ASUS N4L-VM DH Core Duo Motherboard. It comes in a mini-ATX package and several key features make it a board many would consider when building a Home Theatre PC. Or even a central control hub of a well net-worked Digital Home.

Nothing about the board really impresses me. Functionality as a Home Theatre PC, the lack of DVI output makes it far from ideal. The onboard graphics is fine at playing videos but not much more can be expected from it especially when it comes to gaming. It is very stable however, so that means 24/7 running of it should be quite issue-free. The ASUS N4LVM-DH is one of the very few desktop boards supporting Intel Core Duo available in the market, other than AOpen's i945GTt-VFA motherboard. So even if the board is not all the great, there isn't really much to choose from if one wishes to build a setup based on the Core Duo.

The Intel Core Duo processor was more the star of the show. The processing power it offers for the amount of heat, power and noise it trades-off is at a level normal desktop processors cannot match. If we go by processing power per watt, this is definitely the champion in this area The suggested retail price for this board will be released tomorow and we will update accordingly. I think the board would be a good buy if priced in the region of USD$170 (SGD$280). I would look to see if other alternatives can give me a better deal if the price ends up significantly higher than that mark.
