Quarantine is a 2008 American horror film directed by John Erick Dowdle and starring Jennifer Carpenter. The film is a remake of the Spanish horror film. It was released on October 10, 2008 by Screen Gems Pictures.
Jennifer Carpenter plays Angela Vidal, a television reporter who, along with her cameraman, Scott (Steve Harris), is assigned to accompany some Los Angeles firefighters during a night shift. On a 911 call to a small apartment building, they encounter police officers on the scene in response to noises from one of the apartments. It is revealed that a woman living there has contracted an illness which causes its victims to behave violently. The disease has spread and other residents come under attack from those affected. The fire crew and news team attempt to leave the building. However, it has been quarantined by the CDC; all contact with the outside world has been cut off, and any attempts to escape are stopped. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the news team's footage is the only evidence of the night's events.
