Western Digital has just announced the extension of its enterprise offer through the introduction of two new models in its RE3 drive family. The fresh 3.5-inch drives come with 750GB (WD57502ABYS) and 1TB (WD1002FBYS) worth of storage space, have SATA 3.0 Gbps connection interfaces and bear a rather striking resemblance to the Caviar Black desktop HDDs.  Also boasting 32MB of buffer, the new RE3 enterprise drives feature 1.2 million hours mean time between failures (MTBF), native command queuing (NCQ), time limited error recovery (TLER) and come with technologies and electronics that enable it to provide a 20% performance improvement over previous generation drives while maintaining the maximum sound output and power consumption at bay. Already shipping, the 750GB and 1TB RE3 drives are backed up by a five-year limited warranty and have suggested price tags of $199 and $249 respectively.
