TomTom GO 930 Tested - TechAmok
TomTom GO 930 Tested - [gadgets] 07:47 AM EDT - Aug,25 2008 - post a comment RBMods
take a closer look at the TomTom GO 930 which is one of the latest badboys
from TomTom. Here's a taster:
The device only took about 15 seconds to boot up and find my position, this
is outside my apartment and something that is supposed to be between the roads
is a railroad. I noticed that it appeared when I drove up the street though, but
it seems either like a bug or just a mistake when creating the maps. The menus
react very fast and changing page is not a problem. There is no lag or delay and
even the touch screen reacts with a simple touch but they still require a bit of
a push so you won't accidently open the wrong menu up. The first part of the
main menu offers you to navigate, help, connect to your celphone or just change
preferences.
I like the GPS even though it has some cons that I find quite annoying. Several
of the cool new functions costs money to subscribe to, also I found a couple of
map bugs. The windshield holder really stinks in my eyes, why can't they do a
real holder that won't bounce around and you can feel safe with. There are
several cool functions though that I have not see any other GPS devices that
have like, lane switch function, cool voices etc. The question is though is it
worth the 500$? I feel it's the same as with all other top of the line products,
if you want to be on top and have the latest fashion go for it, I doubt you will
regret anything as this will follow you for several years. The menus respond
quick and the software in general has worked like a charm without any bugs or
lagging.
