Dell
has released a software update that adds multi-touch gesture support to the
laptop's touch-screen display. The 14-15MB update is available for Windows Vista
x86, Windows Vista x64, and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Apparently, the
multi-touch functionality works in many standard applications like Firefox,
Internet Explorer, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Earth, and Vista's Windows
Photo Gallery image browser. Dell posted a YouTube video to demonstrate the new
feature yesterday. In the video, Dell's Roy Stedman shows how gestures can be
used to bump up the text size in Outlook, scroll in a web browser, and zoom,
pan, or tilt the camera in Google Earth.
