MSI is getting ready to release their Wind PC in middle of June in 3 colors;
Black, White and probably Pink. MSI Wind PC will compete against the upcoming
ASUS Eee BOX while Wind NB will compete against the Eee PC. The chaps over at
VR-Zone have posted some photos of the actual product and the specs are as
follows : Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and Intel 945GC + ICH7 on passive
heatsinks, 1GB DDR2 533 SO-DIMM, 160GB 3.5" Hard Disk. Noise level is about
30dba and power consumption is about 30W. In an
interview with Laptop Magazine, MSI U.S. Sales Director Andy Tung stated
that the Wind will hit U.S. stores on June 3. Shoppers can expect to pay $399
for the Linux version with 512MB of RAM and $549 for the Windows XP model with
1GB of RAM, according to Tung, although MSI plans to release a cheaper, sub-$500
WinXP model.
