German website Hardware-Aktuell has gotten hold of a Chrome 430 GT (thanks TechReport) and published some benchmarks of the card in action. Surprisingly, the Chrome 430 GT actually holds its own overall. The new GPU does outperform the Radeon HD 3450 and GeForce 8400 GS in 3DMark06 at 1280 x 1024, although it falls behind the Radeon at 1600 x 1200 with 4x antialiasing and 16x anisotropic filtering. The same goes for Crysis: the Chrome 430 GT is faster than the Radeon at 1280 x 1024 and slower at 1600 x 1200, with the GeForce falling behind at both resolutions. The picture is slightly less rosy for the new contender in X3 Reunion, F.E.A.R., and Prey, but it nonetheless manages to stay close to the competition at 1280 x 1024. Of course, the Chrome 430 GT's price tag may somewhat mitigate this strong showing. S3 launched the new card at $59, which is $20-25 pricier than the 8400 GS and 3450.
