Futuremark
has released 3DMark Vantage, the latest installment in their benchmark
series. The benchmark suite is available in four flavors, including a free trial
edition, which will allow a single set of test results. To run Vantage, you'll
need Vista with Service Pack 1 installed, a DirectX10-compliant videocard, 1 GB
of system RAM and a CPU that supports SSE2 instructions (though ideally you'll
want a dual-core processor).
All those capabilities do come at a price, however. You see, the
free version of 3DMark Vantage is a single-use trial that
requires users to
register and enter an activation key. Futuremark
wants $6.95 for the Basic Edition, which doesn't include all
tests and presets, and $19.95 for the Advanced Edition, which
does. Folks not running 3DMark Vantage for non-profit use will
have to pay up $495 "per seat" for the Professional Edition.
Update: For those of you who wants try out the Vantage, I recommend you to
grab this
ATI Catalyst Hotfix Driver for 3DMark Vantage or
Nvidia Beta Driver 175.12 driver.
