Paramount has begun to re-release its previously shipped films that it put out in Blu-Ray format before its move last fall to go HD-DVD exclusive. Paramount stated last week that with the fall of the HD-DVD format it would go Blu-Ray exclusive and its likely that the Blu-Ray movies that are beginning to ship back to stores were in some sort of warehouse after the decision to go HD-DVD exclusive. In other news, DreamWorks Animation head Jeffrey Katzenberg has stated that their studio is still HD-DVD exclusive despite its main backer Toshiba announcing last week it was abandoning the format and will stop selling HD-DVD players by the end of March. Katzenberg states in the story that they are waiting for Toshiba to tell them what to do, saying, "As you know, we have been well-compensated for our support. It really is in their court at this point to really declare what the next step will be. We're poised either way to jump into the marketplace when the conditions are right to do so." DreamWorks Animation's only upcoming video release is for Bee Movie in March.
