The chaps over at
DailyTech claims Nvidia has yet another G92-based graphics card up its sleeve
for this quarter. This mystery card will reportedly deliver the full 128 stream
processors supported by the G92 GPU, a higher core clock speed than the 8800
GT's 600MHz, and support for as much as 1GB of GDDR3 memory running off a
256-bit bus (this would be mean the additional 16 shader units exist on all
GeForce 8800 GT cards, but are disabled for yield or marketing purposes).
There's no word on pricing yet, but DailyTech speculates that the new card will
outpace Nvidia's high-end GeForce 8800 GTX and perhaps even the GeForce 8800
Ultra. The card should be available in December 2007.
