According to
VR-Zone, AMD will start the Phenom offensive with two new processors in
November: a Phenom X4 9500 clocked at 2.2GHz, and a Phenom X4 9600 clocked at
2.4GHz. Both chips will have 512KB of cache per core, 2MB of shared L3 cache,
3.6GHz HyperTransport speeds, and 89W thermal envelopes. In December, the site
says AMD will release a Phenom X4 9700 clocked at 2.6GHz. That chip will have a
4GHz HT clock and a 125W thermal envelope. Judging by the roadmap, we'll have to
wait until 2008 for speedier Phenoms. VR-Zone says a Phenom FX-82 clocked at
2.6GHz or higher will come out in the first quarter of 2008, followed by
additional Phenom 9000- and FX-series chips in the second quarter.
