Joost is now freely available to the public!. The peer-to-peer TV software
developed by the founders of Skype has hit version 1.0 beta, and it can be
grabbed in both Windows and Mac OS X flavors from the
joost.com download page.
Since announcing their ambitions to do to TV what Skype did to conventional
phones, the folks behind Joost have manage to sign on a wealth of big-name
content providers. Those content providers include CBS, MTV, Sony, Turner
Broadcasting System, Viacom, the Warner Music Group, and others. In total, Joost
counts over 15,000 TV shows and over 250 channels.
