Fide Reviews posted a review of the 21.3" SyncMaster 214T LCD. The 214T
features a gamer-friendly1600x1200 resolution, 178 degree viewing angle, and a
quick 8ms Gray-to-Gray response time. In addition to supporting the standard
Analog and Digital video inputs, the 214T is also equipped with a Composite and
S-Video input. These can both be displayed in a PIP format, full screen, and
even split screen modes.
To test the 214T we put the monitor through a series of tests including gaming and a few monitor benchmarks. For gaming tests we used Half Life 2, Doom 3, and Battlefield 2. The games all looked great when played on the "Entertainment" MagicBright setting. No noticeable ghosting what-so-ever and Doom 3's shadows had a crisp blackness to them; not a washed out look with weird tints or coloring. We then loaded up our three LCD benchmarks (download them here, here, and here) that test for a multitude of things including ghosting, crosstalk, dead pixels, and color to name a few. The 214T showed no flaws in terms of crosstalk, bleeding, or ghosting. However, we were disappointed to notice the display had a two dead pixels both located in the bottom portion of the screen.
