As expected,
Apple has updated its iMac line, beefing up the systems with Radeon HD 2400
XT and 2600 Pro graphics and Core 2 Duo processors between 2.0 and 2.8GHz. These
upgrades come wrapped in a new aluminum and glass enclosure that eschews the
sterile whiteness of previous iMac designs. The systems will also come with a
new keyboard that's significantly thinner than previous Apple designs.
The new iMac line will include three models at $1199, $1499, and $1799. All
three systems come with 1GB of memory and an 8X SuperDrive. A 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo
will apparently only be available as a configuration option.
