According to HardSpell, AMD is planning to add Triple CrossFire support into new generation AMD RD790 chipset. AMD will be the performance king by three Radeon HD 2900XT graphic cards to defeat NVIDIA GeFore 8800Ultra SLI. AMD pointed out that the three cards will be 2.6x faster than the single one. If this is true then it will defeat NVIDIA GeForce 8800Ultra SLI by Triple CrossFire technology.

RD790 chipset will use TSMS made 65nm process and support new generation AM2+ processor and Hyper-Transport 3.0 specs. The processor and chipset highest transfer bandwidth can achieve 5.2GT/s. In addition it added new PCI-Express 2.0 support and the speed have improved to 5.0GT/s from 2.5GT/s. The Northbridge built in 41 PCI-E Lanes which can compose two groups of x16 or four groups of x8 equipments. RD790 has very low power consumption: idle 3W and highest at 10W. Compared with Intel X38 14.4W and 35W it's really much better. According to AMD new plan AMD RD790 will provide EVT for MB manufactures in August and mass product in the fourth week August or the first week September.
