Apple has launched a page detailing the cost of the rate plans. Each plan includes visual voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, roll-over minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling, and unlimited data. The plans cost $60, $80, and $100 for 450 minutes, 900 minutes, and 1,350 minutes of calling time, respectively. The $60 plan includes 5,000 night and weekend minutes, the $80 and $100 plans
include unlimited night and weekend minutes. There are also three additional
super-user plans that range from 2,000, to 4,000, and 6,000 minutes, for $120,
$170, and $220, respectively. Lastly, there are also family plans available,
which start at $80 for 700 shared minutes, $100 for 1,400 shares minutes, and
$120 for 2,100 shares minutes. All six plans (plus the family share plans) are
limited to 200 SMS messages. Users looking for larger buckets of messages will
need to purchase the additional messages separately as they do with standard
AT&T plans. AT&T and Apple have also announced that users will be able to
activate their own iPhones via syncing to iTunes. An iTunes account, tied to a
credit card, is required. The software will guide users through the process.
