Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 26.4, introducing an enhanced video podcast experience in the Apple Podcasts app powered by HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. Users can now seamlessly switch between audio and video playback, download episodes for offline viewing, and enjoy adaptive quality based on network conditions, with the full feature rolling out this spring across iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS. The update also brings improvements to Apple Music, including a redesigned interface with dynamic backgrounds for playlists and a new concert discovery feature. Additional changes include end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging testing and a refreshed Wallpaper gallery.
