Micron Technology is ending the consumer-oriented branch of Crucial - that means that by February 2026, Micron will stop selling Crucial-branded SSDs and DRAM modules to retail and distribution channels worldwide. The company says this pivot is driven by soaring demand for memory and storage solutions in AI-powered data centers, where enterprise-grade DRAM and high-bandwidth memory (HBM) are far more profitable than consumer products.
