Jeffrey Bowie, CEO of cybersecurity firm Veritaco, was arrested on April 14, 2025, facing two counts of violating Oklahoma's Computer Crimes Act for allegedly installing malware on computers at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.

The incident, which occurred on August 6, 2024, has raised serious concerns about insider threats in healthcare cybersecurity. Attempting to access multiple offices before finding two computers where he allegedly installed malicious software.

The malware was designed to take screenshots every 20 minutes and transmit them to an external IP address.
