While all M.2 ports on a motherboard might look they same, they're not quite identical under the hood. Some are connected directly to the CPU, while others are attached to the chipset and connected to the CPU from there. Despite many claiming that chipset-connected ports hurt storage performance, we've been testing all our PCIe 4.0 drives via one of these M.2 ports... is our testing data completely faulty or is it perfectly fine? We tested it for ourselves.
