Nine Inch Nails' Year Zero CD holds a secret! - [briefly]
07:21 AM EDT - Apr,18 2007 - post a comment

If you picked up the new album today, you opened it up to find a black CD. Put upon putting it in your computer and listening to it for a while, you'll find the CD isn't black anymore when you take it out! Wow. When you translate the binary on the back to a link it goes to this link. http://www.exterminal.net/. Which is a pretty neat little commentary that i think is at least partially directed at the RIAA. Take a look, some of the coolest viral stuff I have seen in a long time. Also, the Website is host to a bonus track. I wonder if they will keep on updating it. Well, things like this, where there is a real (cool) advantage to owning the disc is what will keep CDs from becoming obsolete. If artists focused more on giving listeners a reason to buy their music legally, then there would be less piracy. FYI, more interesting things about the album can be found here and here.
