Reuters
is reporting that Microsoft has been forced to cease broadcasting a
television ad for the Xbox 360 by the Advertising Standards Agency (the UK
regulatory body which oversees the suitability of advertising content). The ASA
says the warning text only served to reinforce "the sense that the events were
real, rather than fantasy, and were therefore capable of being copied". Wow.
They're also unhappy with the way in which it glamourises "street car racing"
and that the "robbers" are congratulated at the end of the "race".
