Product Visionaires GmbH,
a BenQ Mobile subsidiary based in Berlin, is a creative think tank developing
future concepts primarily for BenQ-Siemens. They have released their designs
of few concept mobile phones recently. Described as "cool and creative", these
concept phones can easily be described by another word - CRAZY! Here's a small
sample of what they've come up with thus far. They have a "snake-clinging
design" that resembles a wraparound bracelet, complete with prominent music
controls; one that gets all warped out of shape as if it were in a funhouse
mirror, providing a "non-symmetric body and ununiformed key pad" that can be
bent and twisted to fit your fancy; and a touchscreen concept that is probably
the most normal looking of the three.
And
here's another concept phone - Asus Aura, produced by Hungarian design
company
Egy
Studio for Taiwanese vendor. It was clearly inspired by iPhone, although it
has some interesting innovations addressing commonly mentioned shortcomings of
Apple's cellphone. The phone has a frontal adorned by a fantastic 3.9 inch LCD
screen that surfaces the entire phone. And believe me; this ought to be one
crazy touchscreen experience. That's not all; the 97x49x6mm frame also
accommodates a 2 megapixel camera, a QWERTY keyboard that is ridiculously
slender and a microSD card slot. as far as network and connectivity specs are
concerned, there's a lot to smile about as it provides support for GSM, HSPDA,
UMTS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It amazes me how compact technology has become.
