We've heard plenty of rumors circulating about the Samsung Galaxy X folding smartphone, which was revealed in a patent filing back in late 2016. Last month a new rumor surfaced that claimed the Galaxy X will redefine high-end smartphones in terms of pricing when it launches. That rumor suggested that the Galaxy X could run as much as $1,850 without carrier subsidies. A new rumor is floating around and this one focuses on what type of battery will power the smartphone. The battery, which will be manufactured by Samsung SDI, is tipped to be a giant 6,000 mAh unit that folds. A folding battery makes sense for a device that is designed to fold. Since current lithium-ion batteries don't do well with punctures or physical damage, how the battery survives repeated folding remains to be seen. It wouldn't be surprising if both those capacities are true. A pair of 3,000 mAh batteries connected somehow is certainly feasible.
