TheInquirer
reports that four R600 variants will be available, and that their model
names will unsurprisingly be part of a new Radeon X2000 series. The
top-of-the-line part will have an XTX suffix, a 12-inch-long board, 1GB of GDDR4
memory, and a 512-bit memory bus. A slower model with an XT suffix will reduce
the card length to 9" and will be available with either 1GB or 512MB of GDDR4
RAM. The remaining two models will have XL and GT suffices with a similar 9" PCB
length, and the GT part will use GDDR3 memory instead of GDDR4. Interestingly,
The Inq says the slower models will be equipped with a single-slot cooler.
Still, the XT, XL, and GT cards will reportedly all draw power through a new
8-pin PCI Express power connector, and the XTX flavor will require two 6-pin
connectors-just like Nvidia's GeForce 8800 GTX.
