Nvidia has unveiled the pricing, specs, and release date for its upcoming graphics card
the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. According to the manufacturer, the card is an excellent alternative to the GTX 1070 with nearly identical performance when compared to the GTX 1080. The GTX 1070 Ti is being marketed as a mid-step option for those who want something more powerful than the GTX 1070, but cannot afford the more costly GTX 1080. Currently, Nvidia has opened up pre-orders for the GTX 1070 Ti with the Founders Edition which launches at $449 — $50 less than the GTX 1080. On top of that, the original 1070 has seen a price drop, bringing it down to $399. The small price discrepancy between the GTX 1070, GTX 1070 Ti, and GTX 1080 are prompting prospecting purchasers to speculate this release is aimed at the growing demand for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining, rather than solely gaming. The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti is set to be released on November 2, 2017
