Three and a half months ago,
I've reported
that a British company known as USBCell had launched a type of AA battery that
could be plugged into a USB port to recharge. However, the battery was only
available in the U.K., and potential U.S. customers could do no more than
register their interest on the company's website. Well, the folks at
ThinkGeek have received stock of USBCell batteries, and U.S. customers can
now order them for $19.95 a pair. While that price is high, the batteries cost
£12.99 ($25.25) a pair to order from the USBCell website, so it's actually a
relative bargain.
