The Inquirer says it has received
reports of GeForce 8800-series cards simply refusing to work with some
motherboards, and
X-bit Labs has complained of similar problems with Abit and Intel
motherboards in its GeForce 8800 GTX review. The Inquirer thinks the cards don't
work because they aren't fully PCI Express compliant, as evidenced by their
absence from the PCI Special Interest Group's compliant components list. The
list was last updated on December 15. While it seems to include ATI's and
Nvidia's entire PCIe graphics card lineups, it lacks any mention of G80 or
GeForce 8800 products.
