Serial ATA problems with some nForce 680i SLI motherboards made headlines earlier this month. eVGA released a couple of beta BIOS updates to fix the problems with its own nForce 680i SLI board this week, and now Nvidia tells us final BIOS updates are available for both eVGA's and BFG's 680i SLI mobos. Nvidia has also launched a page on its website that describes the Serial ATA problems and lists affected motherboards. Aside from the eVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR and BFG BFGRNFI680iS, Biostar's TF680i SLI Deluxe and ECS's PN2-SLI2+ are also affected.

Some NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI "Designed by NVIDIA" motherboard customers have reported experiencing disconnect or write error issues with SATA disk drives. To address this, NVIDIA has released a BIOS update for the NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI "Designed by NVIDIA" motherboards that eliminates this bug.

NVIDIA strongly recommends that all customers upgrade their motherboards to this new BIOS, regardless of whether or not they have experienced this bug.
