It was only a matter of time until Virtual Reality and Adult Entertainment came together, and it seems a
Japanese company is the first to commercialize that concept, opening a new store in Akihabara, Tokyo. The hilariously-named company 'Soft On Demand' have opened a new internet cafe of sorts, with access to computers and of course, virtual headsets. The billboards outside state that the store offers a "fulfilling environment", "cleanliness," and views hotels as its rivals. Quite the interesting pitch.
Whilst the store allows people to read manga, surf the net and play video games within the establishment, the obvious draw here is adult entertainment. The store heavily promotes it ability to support Virtual Reality hardware, and states that it is also possible to "watch 360 videos surrounded by girls", something proudly toted right on the storefront. Rooms also apparently offer soundproofing, so you don't have to worry about the noise from erm, talking to your teammates... Yeah, we'll go with that. This may seem hilarious to most western readers, Japan is massively technology focused, and it is really no surprise a store like this has opened up. We will almost definitely see more and more of these open up, though I suspect Virtual Reality porn will be kept safely locked up in bedrooms on the Western side of the world.
